‘Action Man and the Troubles’ was a lecture at The Dublin City Art Gallery The Hugh Lane (Thursday 6th October 2016) in connection with Sven Augustijnen’s exhibition ‘The Metronome Bursts of Automatic Fire Seep Through the Dawn Mist Like Muffled Drums and We Know It for What It Is’.
A version of the lecture will appear in a book to accompany the exhibition. The photograph below, discussed in the lecture (it is not in the exhibition!) is of me as a five-year-old on Christmas Day 1972, Sandy Row, Belfast.
