Source 75, just published, features the work of Dragana Jurisic and her project YU, which charts a journey through the former Yugoslavia, traced in the footprints of Rebecca West’s extraordinary ‘travel book’ Black Lamb and Grey Falcon. Jurisic’s work is powerful, personal and compassionate. My introduction to YU in this issue of Source looks at how Jurisic makes the most of West’s model, and how YU subtly replicates the complexity of West’s vision.
